What is the No2UID campaign?

This is a campaign to expose the nefarious designs of the Government, politicians on both sides of the divide and corporates to use databases to control people and exploit information of and about them for commercial purposes.

This is the most serious threat to freedom since those who struggled for it, won it for us, over six decades ago. The IT revolution has led to creation of databases with huge amounts of data. Politicians and bureaucrats have realised the power of these databases for control and exploitation. If the data could be tagged to individuals it could be used to control people. UID does just that. It tags individuals to data.

A large number of people in government and legislatures have criminal records and cases against them. They have access to every individual’s data. They hence have the power to control people through manipulation and use of the data.

The UID database is being set up on the pretense of being beneficial to the poor. UIDAI is premised on the assumption that the poor are unable to access government’s welfare programs because they lack identities.
